Teens & Young Adults
With great respect and love, the Siddha Yoga Kishors and Yuvas (Teens and Young Adults) welcome you with all our hearts! As young people, we carry the light of the Siddha Yoga teachings into the world. We are the future!
Kishors are teens 13- 16.
Yuvas are teens and young adults 17 - 24.

KISHOR is a Sanskrit word that means: Youthful, Fresh, Vigorous.
In ancient India, sages considered the years between 13 and 16 to be the ideal time to pursue the spiritual path, to begin to look at the fundamental questions in life, and to discover the inner realms. This is our time. |
YUVA is a Sanskrit word that means: Young, Healthy, Strong.
The years between 17 and 24 are an ideal time to embrace our strengths, to get to know ourselves in depth, and to create a life of abundance, meaning, and joy within. This is our path. |

Coming together in satsang
Satsang literally means "the company of the truth." It also means the company of saints and devotees; a gathering of seekers for the purpose of chanting, meditating, and listening to scriptural teachings or readings. These practices lead us to an ever deepening awareness of our true selves and support us in living our lives as great beings! As Kishors and Yuvas, we come together to support each other in our quest. During our gatherings we look at questions like, "How can Siddha Yoga help me in school and in my relationship with my parents?"
Here are some more reasons young people say they come together with other Siddha Yoga young adults to do the practices:
We are all reflections for each other, which helps us see what we need to work on. We have the same intention and goal and so it is magnificent to be with others who have the same interests. Coming together with my peers . . .helps me every day to achieve my goals and overcome my challenges.
I am constantly reminded of why I am here. I am reminded of my goal and it helps me stay focused and one-pointed on what I truly want.
At one retreat, the Kishors and Yuvas helped to create the New Year's Eve Satsang. Afterwards, one of the young people shared, "The retreat was super cool. I really loved being a main part of things and doing seva. I also loved meeting new people. I think it should have been longer though."
Another person shared,"I felt completely guided in a very open and accepting space that allowed us all to shine. The participation in the New Year's Eve program was so fun."
Great questions for us to contemplate:
How can we step into our own greatness?
How can we continue to put forth right self effort?
How can we unite more? |
